Sweet Treats
I got these for free from something and had them laying around in my cabinet and decided to use them up this weekend. They were really easy and really good. I only had a little bite, but what I had was delicious. KB ate over half of the pan in one sitting.
Sadly they were gone by the time I got into the kitchen tonight. Looks like I'm going to have to stock up.

Casse-whaaaa?
KB lovingly informed me today that "he" signed up to bring broccoli casserole to his company's Thanksgiving pot luck. This means that I will be making said broccoli casserole. I've never made broccoli casserole. I don't really like broccoli casserole. KB doesn't even really like broccoli casserole. I'm never really sure of his logic.

Here's what the Browns will be eating this week:
Mon: Carmelized Baked Chicken with mashed potatoes
I love a good baked chicken recipe. Most of the time they are really easy and I don't even have to think about it. I also made some really good mashed potatoes to go with yesterday's pot roast that I'm going to heat up as a side dish.
Tues: Slow Cooker Vegetable Barley Soup
I have a random box of barley in my pantry left over some beef and barley soup I made in the spring. I don't think it ever really goes bad, but not that many recipes use barley. I was excited to find one (and it's also in the crock pot...double score!). I forgot to get a rutabaga at the store, but we may have a few turnips ready in KB's mini test food plot in the back yard. These are supposed to be for deer and turkeys, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Wed: Pizza Pull Apart Bread from last week
I never got around to making the pizza pull apart bread from last week. I forgot to get pizza dough at the grocery store and I was too lazy to make my own. Pizza also sounds a lot better this week than it did last week. I'm finally over the food poisoning/e.coli/stomach virus from hell.
Thurs: Bacon and Egg Sandwiches
I've been on a breakfast for dinner kick recently. I'm normally not a huge fan of breakfast for dinner, but for some reason bacon and eggs sound really good all the time now. I have a leftover package of bacon in the freezer from some random buy one get one free sale and I always have eggs. I also scored some homemade whole wheat bread that I'm going to use to make egg McMuffin type sandwiches with some aged cheddar. I could seriously eat one right now just thinking about it. Mmmmmmmmm.....

Thoughts on a Thursday
It's time for my Thoughts on a Thursday...
- I've been asked by more than a few people what I want for Christmas already. It's barely November and I'm already having to think about this. So far the only thing I know that I really want is a monogrammed necklace. I like the ones from Moon&Lola but they are so huge. I don't want to wear some huge gold scrolly thing all the time. I like these:
I could get the "Lucky" replaced with my monogram and have pennies for the year I was born and the year we got married. It's a thought. Other than that I have no idea.
- It's been so chilly here this week and for the most part of the week I was subsisting on saltines so I've been drinking lots of tea. I used to drink tea all the time, but then I got my Keurig and moved into coffee. I've been downing this with lots of honey recently....
It's the bomb. It could also be why I've been in bed by 9 every night this week (and by 8:30 last night). Even KB is starting to make fun of me.
- Speaking of KB - he is just the best boy around. He took care of me even when I was a puking, crying mess (multiple times!) and to top it all off he's a super hottie. Lucky me!
I tried really hard to find a picture that didn't have a dead animal in it. Unfortunately really the only ones are at our wedding. I figured a fish was better than a bloody deer, squirrel, coyote, bobcat, bear, turkey, etc.
