Recipe Review: Pita Panini

This sandwich was pretty delicious, but the recipe itself was a huge letdown.  I get a weekly recipe email from Woman's Day and this happened to be under the heading "10 Toasty Sandwiches".  I can't turn down a good toasty sandwich.  This sandwich is really easy to make and I feel like you really could put anything on it.  Overall, muy delicioso.
While the sandwich was good, I can't say the same for the actual recipe.  I went to go read the recipe last night and realized that in the directions it calls for pesto.  Not a problem, but pesto is mentioned NO WHERE on the ingredient list, so naturally I didn't put it on my grocery list.  I ended up using a some balsamic vinaigrette I had in the fridge as the base.  You may also notice that this is a recipe review for a pita panini, but I couldn't find them in my podunk grocery store.  I used an everything bagel thin and it was actually really good and toasty.  I also threw on a few random things like pepperonis and olives.

So basically this is a review of a recipe.....that I didn't follow!
