Wednesday Nothingness....

So it's raining and cold and I got soaked on my way home....therefore I will be laying on my couch watching this:

This is my absolute favorite show!

I'll also be drinking a big cup of this:

My boss got me some Bellagio hot chocolate.  I've never had it before and I'm excited to try it!
While KB is off practicing this:

KB is in a band.  I'm pretty sure he wants to be a mix of Axl Rose and Slash.....he's not, don't get me wrong he can sing and play guitar pretty good....just not like Axl.

Happy Hump Day!

Wall Makeover

Even though we've been married for a few months now, I'm just now getting around to getting some of our pictures up. I did our main wall in the living room a few weeks ago and still had a ton of pictures left over.  Today one of our dining room walls went from this:

I got these pictures for free and everyone always thought it was weird that I had identical pictures side by side....but I didn't know what else to do.
To this:

I had all these frames just laying around so I thought I'd use them.  I'm terrible at hanging things straight so surprise, surprise...they're crooked.
I had all of our old response cards and programs so I thought I'd use them.
So far I'm not completely sold on it...but it definitely beats that creepy side by side identical picture thing we had going on.

Menu Sunday...

Here's what the Browns will be eating this week:

Mon: Phunky BBQ Pho with Pork
I saw this recipe on the Rachael Ray show last week and it looked good for a cold, rainy day (which tomorrow is supposed to be)

Tues: Ham and Sweet Potato Salad
This is from my weekly recipe newsletter from Woman's Day magazine.  It looks pretty easy and I'm a big fan of salads of any kind.

Wed: The Best Grilled Chicken Breast
This is also from a weekly recipe newsletter, but from Prevention Magazine.  I try to throw in some healthy things once or twice a week...most of the time they are pretty good.

Thurs: Pinto Beans and Cornbread
I don't really need a recipe for this one.  I just put the beans in the crockpot and use a store bought cornbread mix.  KB is a big pinto bean fan so he'll like this one.

Fri:Slow Cooker Honey Lemon Chicken with Potatoes
This is another Rachael Ray recipe.  I'm normally not a big fan of hers, but I really like using my crockpot so anything having to do with that I'm game.  The recipe calls for browning the chicken before putting it in the crockpot, but I'm lazy in the morning so I probably won't.

What are you having for dinner this week?

Fabulous Friday...

There are a few reasons why Friday was fabulous:

1) I was off yay!  I got quite a few boring household things done like ironing and cleaning my bathroom...bleh, but it feels good to not have to worry about them.

2) I got new books.  I checked out the library in our little town for the first time and was pleasantly surprised.  It was really small, but the little old ladies in there were nice in helping me find some things. I picked up these lovelies...

I actually just finished this book and it was pretty good....even though I'm not really into historical stuff...or the plague.

I'm not a huge fan of the whole big Eat, Pray Love ordeal going on now, but this looked a little less soul searching and a little more my speed.

3) I cooked a pretty good dinner. KB loves chicken fried anything (and I do mean anything including deer and squirrels) so I made him some chicken fried chicken.  I got the recipe off the back of the Bisquick box and it turned out pretty well.

Here's my chicken and gravy that I didn't burn..yippee for me.
4) Possibly the biggest reason of all: I got a job offer!  Woohoo, I still haven't formally accepted it because I want to run it by my current boss, but it seems like a pretty sweet deal, plus I'd get to work in this neat building:

Here's to hoping everyone else's Fridays were fabulous as well :)

New Nails!

A lady I work with brought in the coolest thing earlier this week...the Sally Hansen Color Quick Fast Dry Nail Pen.  At first I was a little skeptical, but once I tried it I was in heaven.  I tried the Green Chrome shade...not my personal first choice, but I'll more than likely be trying other colors soon. It was really easy to apply and it dried really fast.

My nails are super short right now....but you get the idea.

Here's a close up of the little brushy thingy.
Unfortunately they don't have a dark purple shade that I'm looking for....c'mon Sally hook a girl up!

Workout Review: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Boot Camp

On my ever present quest to lose weight, I end up trying a lot of different workouts.  Today I tried the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Boot Camp.  Luckily, it wasn't cheer routines but mostly just lunges and squats and things.

There is a low impact workout and a high impact workout.  I put the two together and it only lasted about an hour.  There was also a lot of repetition between the two workouts.

On the plus side, I feel like my legs got a pretty good workout and the girls were pretty funny and it didn't feel rehearsed. Most of the girls kinda looked like they had no idea what was going on, which was actually pretty funny.

Overall...ROSIE APPROVED!

Meet the Browns (the non Tyler Perry version)!

After years of reading/stalking other people's blogs, I finally decided that it may be a bit less creepier if I created one myself....then I'd have an excuse to read everyone else's blogs and not feel guilty about it!  Hopefully from here on out you'll be able to see a little bit of the randomness and fun that is the life of the Browns (mostly just RB since KB isn't too hot on the whole blogging thing) and our lovely little girl Rosa.

So cute and I <3 her!
